To my knowledge no changes were made to SMTP in the Advanced Alert Manager for the SAM 6.0 or NPM 10.6 release. You may want to take a look at the PostCast logs to see if the connection is being refused. Also, if you're using SMTP encryption you may want to try disabling that since the SMTP traffic is local to the Orion server anyway. Another thing to try is point the Advanced Alert Manager email trigger action at the loopback interface of the server (127.0.0.1) to see if that resolves the issue. You can also run netstat from the command line to see what interfaces the PostCast SMTP server is listening on (netstat -an | find "25") It should be bound to 0.0.0.0, or all interfaces. Lastly, try installing Firebird, or another email client on the Orion server to see if it has any success sending email through the PostCast server.
