The save and continue working option would not do anything either. I had opened a support case (591945), but was unable to get this as well as another issue with polling intervals resolved.
Ultimately it was found that we had a massive amount of fragmented indexes. Support updated the DB to enable indexing, and we ran database maintenance once while on the phone, and about 5 times since.
The issue persisted, and polling intervals were not increasing. We could get the next polling time to show up after support would put in a manual sql command to change it in the db, but it would not iterate beyond that.
Ultimately I had to go through a full uninstall/ re-install (backed up first), pointing to the existing database.
