Could not have stated this better. So many times I've seen management tools neglected to the point of uselessness. But I will split the blame 50 / 50 between the users of said tools and the vendors who write them. I've used quite a few tools that are not friendly to use and are a bear to keep up. Of course I am also guilty of neglect too. Taking the time to properly maintenance the tools and diligently keeping on top of changes goes a long way towards keeping those tools relevant.
